facts to note about equipment hire:

More expensive does not necessarily mean that it is better for you. The higher level skis are often harder to ski, being more rigid. Standard level skis are more suited for beginner skiers, since they are easier to work, and more forgiving of less than perfect technique. |

Where there are different qualities of skis, boots are of the same quality throughout. This is why footwear prices are the same across the board. |
 |
In Italy it is now compulsory for children under the age of 14 years to wear a recognised safety helmet whilst skiing or boarding. Many more adults are also now wearing them. |

Bronze Equipment Hire.
Bronze equipment hire is good quality equipment, and highly suitable for beginners and unambitious recreational skiers. If you are on your first or second week skiing, or you are happy to ski from rest break to rest break, with not too much skiing in-between, this is for you.
Silver Equipment Hire.
If you are an adventurous and energetic skier or snowboarder, this is the level for you. If you ski from first lift to last, and you are pushing your skiing into good carving turns, then this is the level for you.
Entry level snowboard hire is offered with this option.
Gold Equipment Hire.
Top level performers who need the latest and top of the range equipment need to come here. Perhaps you want to do some racing, perhaps you just like carving deep ruts – this equipment will help you to do it.
Quality snowboard hire is offered with this option. Please note that you can also change your equipment from skis to snowboard (or vice versa) on one occasion during the week, to enable you to taste the other discipline. You need to agree this with the equipment hire shop in the resort, and this is limited by availability of equipment.
Please note:
Prices and quality are determined by the ski or snowboard option. It serves no purpose to book bronze or silver skis or boots, and gold boots. All boots are top quality and highly comfortable, and the same quality of boot is offered to all hirers.

INSURANCE
We are a small, friendly and flexible tour operator, and where possible we will attempt to accommodate special requests. However, we are totally rigid on insurance. In order to travel with us, you must either buy our insurance, or organise your own policy, which should preferably offer the same levels of cover as ours. In the event that you choose not to buy our policy, we will ask you to complete our insurance indemnity form, and this is available to download on the insurance page of this website.

We can organise private taxis to meet you at the airport, and take you directly to your resort accommodation. We do recognise that this is not the cheapest mode of transport.
We also undertake to organise group transfers from Turin airport to Bardonecchia, Sauze d’Oulx and Valfrejus (being our main resorts). These may be more suitable for your group, and we leave it to you to choose. Alternatively, hiring a car can be an easier, more flexible and, often, cheaper option. We recommend you hire from one of the websites offered by your flight provider. If you have problems finding a suitable car hire provider, please call us and we will be happy to recommend several options. |
