Hotel Sportinia
What a find the Hotel Sportinia is. Right in the centre of Sauze d’Oulx, the Sportinia is perfectly located for accessing the town and the nightlife, and within 300m of the brand new Clotes chairlift, which whisks you up into the mountains at a dizzying speed. The town shuttle bus also passes within 50 metres of the front door, so should you choose to start your ski day at Sportinia, then this is also easily accessible.
The Hotel Sportinia has over the last summer, been largely refurbished and brought up to date. An overwhelming feature of the hotel is the sheer size of most of the rooms, and this means that your stay in town is made all the more relaxed for not having to squeeze into a small room. A well equipped gym with weights and exercise bike is on hand, should the on-piste exertions of the day not have been enough for you, and then you can immediately retire to the bar to recover !
A spacious and elegantly furnished restaurant complete the facilities of the hotel. The overwhelming impression left by your stay will be that of space, the relaxed atmosphere and the proximity of the hotel to all the facilities of Sauze d’Oulx, both on-piste and off.

Hotel Gran Bosco
On the outskirts of Sauze d’Oulx, this is certainly one of the best hotels in the resort. Newly built seven years ago, it is another of the breed of owner managed hotels that typify the quality and attention that demanding holidaymakers justly expect when travelling.
Rooms are excellently furnished, and all beds can be either two singles or one double. The majority of rooms also have an extra bed suitable for a child up to around 10 years old, and this both provides security, and economy for your family trip. En-suite facilities, of course, and hair driers are standard in rooms, as well as flat screen televisions. The hotel is furnished largely in the wood and tile alpine style, and maintains a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The hotel takes over 100 people at capacity, but it’s spaciousness means that there is never a feeling of being cramped. The dining room and bar are well organised, and food and drinks are served quickly and competently. There is, of course, a ski deposit room, and adjacent to it, a gymnasium, whirlpool bath and sauna.
Although walking into town is only around 10 minutes, there is a minibus on-hand to ferry people in if required. The same is true of going to and coming back from the lifts.

“Chalet Chez Nous”
We are very proud of our very own alpine refuge. Set in Jouvenceaux, on the edge of Sauze, this charming hotel is near enough to the action to be able to join in if you want, but far enough away not to be disturbed by the fun and games in the centre of town. Newly refurbished in the traditional Alpine style, it oozes “olde worlde” charm and elegance from every pore.
The bedrooms are sheer class, and the “piece de resistance” is the vaulted basement dining room where breakfast is taken. Breakfast is a buffet selection of fruit juices, tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, fresh bread, conserves, yogurt, cheeses and cold meats. The Etoile des Nes Neiges” restaurant, just twenty metres from the front door of the Chalet Chez Nous, continues the theme of “olde worlde” Alpine elegance – open beams, pine panelling, sloping roofs, and an amazing view down the valley from the first floor dining room all set a wonderful ambience.
Dinner can be taken in either the Etoile des Neiges restaurant and pizzeria, some twenty metres from the front door of the Chalet Chez Nous, or “La Fontaine” which is around a two hundred metre flattish walk.
Alternatively, ask Robbie or Andrea to take you up into Sauze d’Oulx main town in their minibus, which they will do at a mutually convenient time, and with great good humour. Arrange a meeting time with them for the return journey – or indulge your partner in romantic starlit walk home (downhill !) It’s only about fifteen minutes, and so good for the digestion!

The Hotel Etoile des Neiges
There is a quiet revolution going on in the sleepy hamlet of Jouvencaux, adjacent to Sauze d’Oulx. One of turning this satellite village into the proud owner of some of the best accommodation in the whole Susa Valley – never mind just Sauze d’Oulx ! First the elegant Chalet Chez Nous, and now the delightful Etoile des Neiges has opened.
Owned and run by the same family that runs the close by restaurant of the same name, this is another beautifully and sympathetically restored old building. Less than 100metres from the Jouvencaux chairlift, the original vaulted basement remains, and this is now the restaurant and bar. A staircase or lift take you up to the accommodation.
The rooms are beautifully conceived and the standard of finish is absolutely top class. Some of the rooms overlook the valley and all have a balcony, just right for the first early evening aperitif. Fridges and televisions complete the refinements that make your life just that little bit more comfortable. There are some family rooms, and it is possible to add beds in some of them.
